Top Cover Songs

Some of the most famous songs in music history are cover versions. Gibson.com enlisted its editors, writers and readers to vote for the greatest cover songs ever released. Jimi Hendrix’s version of the Bob Dylan song “All Along The Watchtower” landed at No. 1, beating out The Beatles doing The Isley Brothers’ “Twist and Shout” and Johnny Cash’s rendition of Nine Inch Nails’ “Hurt.” Here are the Top 20 (original artist in parentheses):
