Top-Earning ‘American Idol’ Stars
Carrie Underwood earned an estimated $20 million between May 2010 and May 2011, according to Forbes. That makes Underwood the top earner among “American Idol’s” former contestants. She won the competition in 2005. Host Ryan Seacrest made $61 million, a higher sum than the 10 “Idol” stars’ incomes combined. The highest-paid “Idol” contestants:

THE EMMY nominations are out!
THE EMMY nominations are out and HBO’s miniseries “Mildred Pierce” had the most with 21. As usual, “Mad Men” was a big favorite with 19 nods and “Boardwalk Empire” and “Modern Family” were close behind with 18 and 17 respectively. HBO led the way among the networks with 104 nominations, followed by CBS with 50, NBC with 46, Fox 42, and ABC with 40. At age 89, Betty White scored her 17th Emmy nomination, while 85-year-old Cloris Leachman picked up her 22nd. The Emmys will air on September 18th.
America’s Favorite Baseball Teams
The National League won the annual All Star Game last night, beating the American League 5-1. It is a time when Major League Baseball takes a break mid-season to celebrate their stars, the teams get a few days off to rest and the race to the end of the summer and post-season play begins in earnest. It is also time to see who America’s Favorite Baseball team is. Among those who follow the sport, the New York Yankees again win the honor of being “America’s Favorite,” as they have each year since 2003. According to the annual Harris Poll here are America’s Favorite Baseball Teams:
